Maple Syrup Frosting

Goes with Maple Syrup Cake


3/4 cupmaple syrup
1/4 cupsugar
 pinch of salt
1egg white

Cook syrup and sugar together until it spins a thread when dropped from a spoon. Pour over salted, stiffly beaten egg white while beating, and beat until cold. Spread on cake.

Lisbeth: This is enough for two cakes. I defy even Catherine and Dad, baking together, to use this much frosting on one 9x9 cake.
