Chicken Soup
Start 24 hours before you have to put out the garbage. Makes 4-6 cups. Put everything in the crock pot. Fill to top with water and cook on high, covered, for up to 24 hours, replenishing water as necessary. Strain through a colander and eat hot or freeze for later. Use as a base wherever chicken broth is called for. This soup is low salt (unless you add a lot) compared to storebought chicken stock, so recipes that need the salt call for chicken stock and recipes that don't call for chicken soup. |
